About MGAB

About Myasthenia Gravis Association Barbados

The Organisation was formed on 18th December, 1999 with 8 members; Today, it has 34 members; It started as a support group.
but then became a registered charity (#494) in 2001. It also became a member of the Barbados Council for the Disabled on June 28, 2002 – our umbrella body.

The organisation was established out of the desire to identify or make contact with persons diagnosed with MG. Those sufferers share a common bond and may wish to share their experiences or challenges in a similar setting; Also, MG is a rare illness, and the symptoms are different, the stories shared becomes a learning process.

We meet at the Barbados Council for the Disabled, ‘Harambee’ House, Garrison, St. Michael on the last Saturday of every other month (Bi-monthly)

Our main objective is to raise awareness of Myasthenia Gravis (MG)
