(1) Patient’s account of symptoms
(2) Electromyography (EMG)
(3) Tensilon ( Is used less nowadays)
(4) Blood test
(5) CT Scan
Treatments:
- Mestinon (Pyridostigmine)
- Prednisolone (Steroids)
- Azathioprine (Imuran)
- Thymectomy (surgical)
There are other immune suppressants that are kept in reserve for people who can’t take the front-line drugs.
Other things to minimize the symptoms of Myasthenia Gravis.
- Plenty of rest
- A well-balanced diet
- Avoid Exposure to infections
- Some over-the-counter drugs
- All forms of stress (if possible)
